FTC Focuses on Bizopps. This bulletin from the FTC outlines its recent efforts to crack down on fraudulent business opportunities. Three settlements involving illegal earnings claims by operators of two vending machine scams and an Internet get-rich-quick scam were completed by the FTC. The three settlements resulted in a combined $530,000 in consumer redress and the potential for about $38 million if the operators' financial statements are found to be inaccurate.
