The National Restaurant Association has issued a statement that it opposes the MEAL Act -- the federal bill (Menu Education and Labeling Act), if passed, would require restaurants to provide nutritional information on menus. Based on the number of choices at any given restaurants, changing menus and customer substitution of products, the Restaurant Association claims that the process is unmanageable and financially burdensome, even for large chains.
