Beware of Dog --Taco Bell Gets Hit for Another $11.8 Million in Chihuahua Case. The Talking Chihuahua has now cost Taco Bell a total of $41.9 million, after a federal judge agreed with the plaintiffs' argument that Taco Bell owed them interest on the $30.1 million jury verdict starting on the date plaintiffs filed their lawsuit. Plaintiffs, two Michigan men, claimed that Taco Bell stole their idea of a talking Chihuahua in connection with an ad campaign. A Michigan jury returned the $30.1 million verdict against Taco Bell in June.
