McDonald's to Launch New Cajun

McDonald's to Launch New Cajun Concept in New Orleans. According to the Clarion Ledger, McDonald's will open Chef Mac's, a Cajun-style restaurant described as "upscale, quick gourmet casual." Just a few blocks from the French Quarter, the new restaurant will not have the look, feel or taste of a McDonald's. Rather, it will offer an entirely different menu of po-boys, Louisiana shrimp and barbecued chicken and "will have chandeliers, leather couches, stylish tiles and upgraded restrooms." After a two-year slump in the U.S. food market, McDonald's is looking at new concepts including diners, coffee shops and self-service kiosks.
