Shake's Franchises Offer 50's Experience. Originally established as Shakey's in the early 90's, Shake's is a 1950's style franchise which offers oldies music and a sundae called the Big Bopper. A number of franchisees take advantage of Shake's agreement with some Wal-Mart stores by putting their stores on land owned, but not used by Wal-Mart. As reported by the Topeka Capital-Journal, Shake's has 47 stores in 8 states and plans to reach 600 stores in the next five years.
