McDonald's Settles Trans-Fat Case

The Chicago Trubune reported here that McDonald's settled a San Francisco lawsuit, alleging that the hamburger giant failed to advise consumers of the delay in the company's reduction of trans-fats in its products. The settlement of the 2003 lawsuit with plaintiff BanTransFats.com requires McDonald's to donate $7 million to the American Heart Association and to use $1.5 million to publicize the delay in the fat reduction plan.
