
According to this article, after years of testing, McDonald’s claims finally to have found a trans-fat-free oil worthy of its fries. The franchisor is phasing in the new oil (which is canola-based and includes corn and soy oils) and is currently using it at over 1,200 “top secret” locations. McDonald’s now appears poised to meet New York City’s July 1 deadline to dump trans fats.
