You’ll Need a Larger Mug to Dunk that Pizza, and Where’s Your Green Card?

FTC

In a fairly radical departure from its usual fare, Dunkin’ Donuts has a new “test” location in Chicago that also serves deep-dish pizza and cheese flatbread sandwiches and has a new “contemporary” look. More details are in this Boston Herald article. The franchisor is also apparently starting to terminate franchise agreements for franchisees employing undocumented workers at its franchises – or at least has done so with one franchisee in the Boston area, which Dunkin’ also accuses of failing to pay royalties. According to this article, Dunkin’ is also voluntarily participating in a “basic pilot” computer system that allows employers to verify whether workers are legally in the country and have Social Security numbers. This move follows a general federal crack down on illegal immigrants.
